Since it's inception in Jan. 2000 LV Rocks has seen many
web shows come and go from it's weekly line up. Below is a list of
those shows which once were heard on the netwaves of LV Rocks. Who
knows. Maybe one or more of these shows will make a triumphant return
from the LV Rocks Graveyard, and be heard once again. Maybe not.
Dum Luck
Dum Luck is beleived to be the very 1st internet based game show. (At least we've never seen any others) Each week featured 4 contestants testing their "Dum Luck" by answering various questions
from randomly selected categories. The show was hosted by Kaan Soler, announced by J.D., and the official judge was Rio. The show was cancelled for various reasons, but none of those reasons prohibit it from one
day making it's way out of the graveyard! (Dum Luck saw a brief return as a show segment on Daily Noise. Barely resembling the original show format, it was dumped in favor of new segments.)
O.G. Offstage
It is with heavy heart and limp organs that this show officially be laid to rest
in LV Rocks Graveyard. The lovely ladies of Olympic Garden Topless
Cabaret in Las Vegas did provide us with many memorable moments, and
the number of listeners certainly kept it on top of the LV Rocks ratings almost
every week, for well over a year and a half. Regretfully, show host/producer/founder/drooler Jimmy Diggs found it difficult to dedicate
time to the show on a weekly basis, therefore causing it's premature (uhmm) death.
Post Meridian
Hosted by "Ripchord" this show featured a dark and melodic mixture
of tunes that was quite appealing. Ripchord also spent a short stint
as co-hostess on another 'graveyard' show, "Inside Sin City".
Inside Sin City
Hosted by Las Vegas' godfather of metal "King Lizzard", the Inside
Sin City show provided many memorable moments. The show saw many
co-hosts come and go in it's one year on LV Rocks. Ripchord, Dagger,
& T were among those who shared time in the co-host chair. Queen
Lizzard provide behind the scenes assistance, including capturing each
show on camera. You can keep up with King Lizzard at his web site
www.kinglizzard.com
Tap Out
This weekly wrestling news & discussion show went through many
ups and downs in it's months on LV Rocks. In it's infancy, the show
was hosted by Rolando Cruz & Shawn MacMann. Later versions of
the show featured many LV Rocks personalities sitting in with Rolando Cruz
to host the show. (Tap Out enjoyed another run in 2005 with 'The Four Hostmen" Rolando Cruz, Shaun O'mac, Big Goof, and Saab Lofton.)
Hardcore w/ The Zonkman
One of the first few shows on LV Rocks, Zonkman would sit down for
several hours every Saturday evening to spin the most offensive tunes he
could find.
Rock Hard w/ Girlie
This show was over before it started, as the hostess decided it was
too much exposure for her locally when her picture and show info was published
in Las Vegas magazines. Therefore setting the standard on LV Rocks
to never pre publicize a show outside of LV Rocks.
Lifestyles of the Poor & Unfamous
Ok, so it actually just went through a name change to "Sounds of Sin",
but it's previous title is buried deep in the dirt that is the LV Rocks
Graveyard.
Punch for Punch
72 year old Howard Branson still remains the oldest personality ever
heard on LV Rocks programming. The one hour boxing and jazz show
had a short 6 month reign as the undisputed champion of nothing on LV Rocks.
Howard sure was a nice guy though.
After the Flag
For one racing season, Brad Fitzgerald took to the microphone after each race on Sunday evenings
to discuss the days events, and deliver racing news and info.
Cyberspace Live
2 hours of tech talk with CyberSorcerer used to fill the Tuesday evening
time slots. From computers to video games, nothing was sacred.
PC Tech Help
Cybersorcerer's second attempt at a weekly technical issues show. Quite frankly, I'm not sure what happened to this one, but gone it is.
Mosh It Live
Crusher's original metal fest was named after his underground metal
magazine "Mosh It". Crusher is one of the few people to have two
different shows in the LV Rocks Graveyard.
Metal Reigns
Crusher's second version of his metal contribution to LV Rocks truly
did "Reign" supreme. Perhaps no show on LV Rocks has enjoyed the
loyalty that Metal Reigns did. Listeners to the show would 'camp
out' for Crusher's 6 hour Tuesday evening metal marathons. (Update) Metal Reigns
returned again as a 2 hour pre-recorded show. Crusher has since moved to Texas, but his
weekly show lives on! Visit Metal Reigns for more details.
Daily Noise Version 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0
This show has been laid to rest in the LV Rocks Graveyard 4 times now. The challenges of putting on a daily show usually proving too much to handle with limited resources, and no incoming revenue to justify putting so much time into a daily internet radio show. Previous show hosts have
included Jimmy Diggs, Miss Amber, Crusher, Darksoul, & Howard Branson. Daily Noise version 4.0 had an impressive 38 month run from July 5th 2004 to August 31st 2007 with hosts Jimmy Diggs & Kaan Soler.
Pud Up
Not only the first show on LV Rocks, but the show that actually spawned
LV Rocks. Host time shared by Jimmy Diggs, Zonkman, Simon Peters, & Brad Fitzgerald
Pud Up had a lengthy reign as the top source for adult entertainment not
only on LV Rocks, but arguably on the internet. Past guests include
2003 Penthouse Pet of the Year Sunny Leone, adult film star Mimi Miyagi,
Miss Nude Universe Michelle Katz, Anna Malle, Ashlyn Gere, Houston, Gina
Lynn, and many more from the world of adult entertainment.
Shok Radio
Originally an AM Radio show in Las Vegas this show hosted by Kaanman
& Rio, struggled building audience while occupying the Thursday night
"Must See TV" time slot. The show was best known for introducing
some of the best unsigned artist you could find anywhere, many of whom
remain unsigned, but still hold a place on the LV Rocks playlist.
Kaanman went off the air promising the return of Shok Radio, bigger and
better than ever. So don't expect this one to stay dead for long.
King Hesh
A tragic moment to many on LV Rocks... Oh... wait! This show
isn't dead. Just seems like it is. None the less, we'll keep
it in the Graveyard where it certainly will end up eventually.
The Grey Area
For a short two month period, host
Joey Zack took on the difficult task of putting on a daily show on LV Rocks.
In it's short time, it did manage to present the most shocking and disgusting
moment on LV Rocks. We won't go into detail, but figured it was worth
mentioning.
Live w/ the Limpster
Way back in the early days of LV Rocks, Limpster hosted the only show
on LV Rocks that did not hail from Las Vegas, but instead Virginia Beach.
Highlight of his show was typically watching his chat room spelling deteriorate
as the show went on, and as he consumed more alchohol on air.
LV Rocks Live
The original 'variety show' on LV Rocks hosted by Jimmy Diggs &
Zonkman. The 4 hour Saturday night webcast featured great tunes,
and phone interviews with various entertainers. Point of interest:
LV Rocks first met Jammer as he appeared as a guest on this show featuring
his music.
Rat Pack Live
Who can forget 24Karat Pete and Lisa "Barn Burner" Valez's contribution to LV Rocks?
Well, anyone who never tuned in perhaps. Maybe a mismatch for the the LV Rocks format, this
very well prepared show delivered tunes from the "Rat Pack Era" for two hours every Monday evening.
Rat Pack Live is now a 24/7 internet station that can be heard here.
No Particular Order (N.P.O.)
Hosted by Jimmy Diggs, N.P.O. was a weekly presentation of modern rock's top 20 songs, in totally random order. The show was eventually cancelled due to limited resources in securing the singles for airplay each week, coupled with the host Jimmy Diggs getting a little burnt out being on the air 6 days a week.
Audible
Well, this one is more in 'hybernation' for the football offseason. Kaan Soler and Rolando Cruz talk football for 2 hours each week.
Saab Lofton's Power Hour
Saab Lofton's untraditional weekly rants on world issues often saw more "flack" from chatroom participants rather than support. Ultimately, sponsorship issues dealt a death blow to the show, ensuring it's place in the LV Rocks graveyard.
